So how does CHANGE begin? Change is born when you see something that you feel just isn’t right and you raise your voice to stop it from continuing.

Look around your community, observe what is happening, the relationships among people and between society and the earth, the opportunities available to all, and any other reality you feel may be important. Ask yourself,

• What do you see that makes your blood boil? Why does this make you angry?

• What have you heard about in your neighborhood or the global community that you believe is unfair or unjust?

• What is your vision for the world?

Your answers to these questions are the first step to understanding what the status quo is in your community and in the world. Draw a symbol next to the answers and the issues that most powerfully strike you-that you have the most passion for-what are these?

Choose one or two to focus your service and social change work on-it is the issues that we feel most passionate about that we are most likely going to transform the most effectively.
