Education has often been touted as the cure to all social ills. Is it really? How important do you think education is to eliminating poverty and disease or uplifting communities?

Education
Education is the key to uplifting a community. Think about it... Once a child is brought up with an education in hygiene, respect, responsibility, and leadership skills, one generation will slowly advance. They in turn will continue this tradition of education for their own children. In this way education can eliminate poverty and disease. In support for this I highly recommend "Three Cups of Tea" by Greg Mortenson and Davis Oliver Relin. It is a novel that fallows Mortenson, a humanitarian. He is dedicated to the education of women, the key to a prospering community.

In most forms of society, education is the key to success.
But not all of it. Some people made their way to fortune, or happiness without even attending school.
But because a majority of the people on earth are in a system that deals with education, I consider it extremely important. We need to learn, and to know how the world works.

Education is important. Without education, there wouldn't be lightbulbs on our ceilings, or medications in our cabinets. Education is helping us all keep the world going.

i think that education is important not just so we can be successful in our wealth but to also allow ourselves to be educated about the world around us. Yes, there are some people who are successful even though they didn't recieve any education. But, i believe that with education, it will bring you farther in life and you will be more successful.
